Are you a student leader or want to be one? Do you want to share your enthusiasm for Rice with new international students? If YES...JOIN 2020 I-PREP STAFF TEAM!!! I-PREP stands for "International - Preparation and Regulation Education Program", which is the undergraduate orientation program for new international students. It takes place right before O-Week every summer. An I-PREP Advisor acts as a social facilitator and activity leader during I-PREP activities, guides and advises on U.S. culture and life at Rice, and provides logistical support during I-PREP (August 13-16). Selected applicants must be back at Rice on August 10. The I-PREP Application deadline is February 5th. The I-PREP Application can be found here: https://oiss.rice.edu/iprep-advisor-application . OPT Priority Processing OISS will hold several workshops on off-campus work authorization for F-1 students during the spring semester. For more information and a complete list of workshops, please see the Student Employment page . In addition, OISS is offering "Priority Processing" for early OPT applications for students graduating in May. If you submit the first part of your OPT application to OISS (i.e. OPT Student Form, OPT Faculty Advisor Form & Form I-765) by February 7th, we guarantee that you can get a priority OPT I-20 pick-up appointment on the week of February 17th, which is the earliest time USCIS will allow you to send in your application.
